Youseum Stockholm: The first shout out goes to Rise & Shoot!

Last month, Rise & Shoot visited Youseum Stockholm. Founded not that long ago, the organization aims to form an inclusive community. A place where  young creatives can find motivation, inspiration and valuable network of like-minded. It was a pleasure to welcome them in our experience in Stockholm!

How it all started…

The Co-founder Yusuf Hussein is an award-winning poetry slam artist and filmmaker from Rinkeb. During his year in the industry, he realized that while the work can be gratifying, it also became quite a challenge. During his years, more and more young people reached out to him on social media, asking for advice on how to become filmmakers or photographers themselves. So that was a push to found Rise & Shoot with two of his closest friends to make it easier for a diverse youth group to network with established photographers.

What does Rise & Shoot do?

Creating a diverse and inclusive workforce is one of the goals. It is not always easy to break into the world of photography and filmmaking. However, the offered workshops, visits and small competitions can break the ice to kick off your path in a creative field. Yusuf also stated: “We also arrange inspirational events in our own office called Rise and Inspire where we invite people working in the creative industry so they could tell others about their journey and how it really is.”

Rise & Shine is an active community that organizes several events to create an inspiring environment for everyone. One can count inspirational days with professionals, workshops, or visits to art galleries or other creative settings to these events. Youseum was more than happy to be one of the scheduled visits and welcome the organization! We believe everyone should have the opportunity to become whatever they aspire to do.
